About the FTA

The Floatation Tank Association has been serving the worldwide floating community since 1983.

The FTA is an industry run 501(c)6 nonprofit organization, who's mission is to serve the world-wide floating community by promoting the profound benefits of floating, increasing the use of floatation tanks, and encouraging the growth of the floating industry.

What We Do

Our mission is to increase the use of floatation tanks, but there's more to it than just putting bodies in tanks. You can learn a bit about how we're working towards this goal here, and then head over to our Committees page to learn specifics.

Spread the Word

As more and more people learn about the benefits of floating and try it for themselves, we're finding more people telling others about floating! One way we support this is by generating content about floating that can be shared to the public, attending health and wellness conferences, and lifting up the industry as a whole.

Research & Regulations

It's important to study the effects of floating for different groups of people, both so we can have a solid backing of research and so we can bring more people to tanks. Plus - we want every customer at every float center to have safe, sanitary, and satisfactory experiences. We aim to help develop best practices for maintaining float centers.

Support the Industry

Last, but certainly not least - the FTA is here to support the float industry. We share best practices for all aspects of floating and running a float center. We're also working to support manufacturers, suppliers, and consultants that work with float centers. And finally, we're working with other floaty organization, so we can all rise up together!

About the Nonprofit

It takes a surprising amount of effort to keep a nonprofit running. Here you will find information on how we do what we do, as well as some accountability for what we do. Please feel free to email any questions to info@floatation.org!
